As a local who has explored nearly every watering hole on the strip, I’ve put together this comprehensive guide to the 25 best bars in Nashville on Broadway. Whether you’re a bachelorette party looking to let loose, a family seeking authentic Nashville fun, or a couple craving a romantic night out, this list has something for everyone.

Map of the Best Bars in Nashville on Broadway

My Favorite Bars in Nashville on Broadway

Here are my personal favorite Broadway bars. They’re both a little unique and a lotta fun. They usually include yummy food and always include a great time.

1. Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge

Address: 422 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203
Hours: 9:30am-3:00am daily
Who this bar is perfect for: Those seeking a taste of historic Nashville.

Tootsie’s, established in 1960, stands as the oldest bar on the strip, proudly adorned in its signature “orchid” purple since day one. Impossible to overlook on Broadway, this iconic establishment exudes historical charm while offering a vibrant atmosphere for modern visitors.

Over the decades, Tootsie’s has played host to countless legendary singers and songwriters, with many launching their careers within its walls, including the illustrious Willie Nelson. A pilgrimage to Nashville isn’t complete without a visit to Tootsie’s; it’s a quintessential Nashville landmark. Pose for a snapshot in front of the famous purple facade, then step inside to sip a drink while envisioning the luminaries who once graced its barstools.

2. Wildhorse Saloon

**Wildhorse Saloon is temporarily closed for remodeling as of January 2024**

Address: 120 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN 37201
Hours: Sun-Mon Closed, Tues 4pm-10pm, Wed-Thurs 12pm-10pm, Fri-Sat 12pm-12am
Who this bar is perfect for: Enthusiasts of line dancing, families, bachelorette parties, and more.

Nestled just steps away from the bustling main strip, Wildhorse Saloon claims the title of my favorite spot on Broadway. Boasting live country music daily, multiple bars, and a full kitchen serving delectable fare, Wildhorse Saloon offers a comprehensive Nashville experience. But what truly sets it apart is the line dancing.

This isn’t just any bar – it’s a haven for line dancing aficionados. The expansive dance floor beckons all to join in the rhythmic revelry, while hourly instructional sessions led by spirited instructors elevate the experience. From novices to seasoned dancers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Recently, I hosted family members visiting for a baby shower, many of whom had never experienced Nashville. Eager to provide an authentic Nashville adventure, we made a beeline for Wildhorse Saloon to learn the art of line dancing. Even at 32 weeks pregnant, I found myself gleefully kicking up my boots on the dance floor, relishing the inclusive and invigorating atmosphere. From ages 13 to 76, everyone in our group reveled in the joyous camaraderie, solidifying Wildhorse Saloon as a must-visit destination on Broadway and a standout among Nashville’s finest bars.

UPDATE:

Sadly, the bar was bought out recently by Luke Combs and they will be transforming the space in the next few months. They say that the bar will remain open throughout much of the renovations, but from my understanding the line dancing will be gone or will at least not be the main focus. The plans seem really cool, read more about the new updates if you’re interested. But if you visit before the changes begin in early 2024, be sure to hit up Wildhorse before it’s gone.

Acme, strategically located at the very end of Broadway near the river, offers breathtaking panoramic views encompassing the strip, the river, and Nissan Stadium. Adding to its allure, the establishment is owned by none other than the iconic country music figure, Alan Jackson.

Featuring multiple levels, each floor unveils a distinct experience. The ground floor boasts a laid-back restaurant serving authentic Southern delicacies accompanied by live music at the heart of the dining area. Ascend to the second floor and find yourself amidst a sushi bar. Despite its seemingly unconventional pairing, the sushi offerings are nothing short of exceptional. Personally, I find their fried rolls particularly delightful.

Venture further to the third floor, reserved for private events, and finally, reach the pinnacle – the rooftop bar. An ideal spot for indulging in refreshing beverages, enjoying live music, witnessing mesmerizing sunsets, and indulging in some prime people-watching. Acme truly encompasses everything one could desire in a bar experience.

Celebrity Owned Bars in Nashville on Broadway

Back in the day, “Honky Tonk Highway” was just a collection of bars along the main strip. But over the last several years, the biggest names in country music have been buying the property and plastering their names all over the neon signs. There are tons owned by artists along the strip, but here are some of the best bars in Nashville on Broadway that are owned by the celebrities themselves.

5. Kid Rock’s Big A** Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse

Kid Rock’s is a local gem, adored by many in our circle of friends. Nestled in the heart of Broadway, it pulsates with the vibrant energy of Nashville’s nightlife.

While technically labeled as a steakhouse, don’t solely bank on the steak. It’s decent, but not the talk of the town. Instead, revel in the diverse stages and the electrifying ambiance. It’s these elements that make Kid Rock’s one of the prime destinations on Broadway.

Fri-Sun 10am-2am

Ideal Crowd: Younger individuals seeking drinks, karaoke, dancing, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Jason Aldean’s bar stands out as the top choice among Nashville’s Broadway bars, according to my friends visiting Music City. Whether it’s the celebrity name emblazoned on the building or the bar’s own allure, it has undoubtedly garnered immense popularity.

Having frequented this establishment multiple times, I can attest to its appeal. Each visit promises lively performances by two exceptional artists or bands—one captivating the crowd on the main stage, while another enthralls audiences on the rooftop stage. Both areas boast ample space to accommodate the enthusiastic spectators.

Prepare yourself for a bit of a wait to gain entry, followed by a bustling interior where securing a spot at the bar can be a competitive endeavor due to the packed ambiance. However, if your agenda includes enjoying quality drinks, grooving to fantastic music, relishing the company of friends, and mingling with fellow patrons, Jason’s bar is undeniably the place to be.

I must admit, I’m not exactly Miranda Lambert’s biggest fan, but Casa Rosa, her bar, completely exceeded my expectations. It almost made it onto my list of “Top Bars in Nashville on Broadway” because it’s just that impressive.

Let me start by telling you about the decor—everything is decked out in hot pink. It’s a paradise for girly-girls, and I absolutely love it. Planning a bachelorette party? Look no further, this is the ultimate spot.

The first floor and rooftop are what you’d expect from a bar on Broadway—great vibes and live music. But it’s the second floor that really steals the show. Can you believe there are celebrity-owned bars in Nashville on Broadway that serve exceptional food? Well, Casa Rosa is one of them. The restaurant on the second floor offers Tex-Mex + Cantina cuisine, and let me tell you, the food is downright delicious.

Now, I’m not claiming it’s the most authentic Mexican cuisine out there, but for Tex-Mex, it’s top-notch. During a recent visit with a large group for lunch, they seated us promptly, and everyone raved about their meals and drinks. It was an unforgettable experience, and I make it a point to return whenever I’m on the strip.

Hours: Mon-Fri 11am-1am, Sat-Sun 10am-1am

Who this bar is perfect for: Someone who appreciates Florida Georgia Line’s music just as much as we do.

The FGL House stands proudly just one building off of Broadway, and it holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I are avid fans of the country duo; in fact, we danced to H.O.L.Y. for our first dance at our wedding. Yes, we’re still mourning the duo’s breakup, but let’s not dwell on that. Rest assured, this bar isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Nestled at the bottom of the pedestrian bridge spanning the river, it’s a prime spot for those heading over after a concert or football game at Nissan Stadium. Like its counterparts, this bar boasts multiple levels brimming with lively music, ample libations, and classic American fare. It’s undeniably one of the standout establishments on Nashville’s famed Broadway strip.

What sets Luke’s apart is its diverse music scene. Unlike its counterparts along Nashville’s Broadway strip, you’re not confined to country tunes here. Each floor hosts a different genre, ensuring everyone finds their rhythm. Plus, frequent DJ performances add an extra layer of excitement.

12. AJ’s Good Time Bar

Ideal Patron: Karaoke enthusiasts rejoice.

AJ’s Good Time Bar, under the ownership of the illustrious Alan Jackson (who also happens to own ACME), stands as a gem amidst the bustling Broadway scene in Nashville. Though it may be smaller in size compared to its grand counterparts, what it lacks in scale, it more than compensates with its cozy ambiance.

But wait, there’s more. Venture up to the third floor, and you’ll discover the pièce de résistance – a karaoke bar. Whether you’re belting out your favorite tunes or simply reveling in the performances of others, AJ’s Good Time Bar promises an intimate and entertaining experience not to be missed on your Broadway bar-hopping adventure in Nashville.

The Redneck Riviera, nestled on Broadway, bears the stamp of ownership by none other than Country Music sensation John Rich of Big & Rich fame (Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy, anyone?). It exudes the charm of a dive bar, but in all the most delightful ways. This establishment proudly displays its unwavering affection for our nation, our armed forces, and our frontline heroes, a refreshing sight amidst the hustle and bustle of the strip. And here’s a heartfelt gesture: Veterans are treated to a buy one, get one free offer on their initial round of drinks.

Here’s a fascinating tidbit: Upon our arrival in Nashville, I had the privilege of working for a catering company, and once, we catered an event at John Rich’s residence. It was an absolute delight. Imagine my awe when I discovered that his pool is shaped like a guitar. And yes, that’s me in the snapshot, basking on the rooftop of his magnificent abode.

Boasting a vast, impeccably maintained space with a modern flair, this establishment offers five floors of entertainment bliss. The crown jewel? A rooftop adorned with breathtaking views stretching along Broadway.

Be prepared for the nighttime buzz as Ole Red tends to draw a crowd, sometimes leading to a brief wait for entry. But fear not, the experience is well worth it.

With additional locations in Gatlinburg, TN, Las Vegas, NV, Orlando, FL, and Tishomingo, OK, Ole Red’s allure extends far beyond Music City. Plus, for those passing through Nashville Airport, there’s even a location conveniently nestled inside, ensuring you can savor the Ole Red experience before departing on your flight.

Who should frequent this establishment: Enthusiastic Garth Brooks aficionados – and trust us, they’re everywhere.

Joining the lively scene on Nashville’s Broadway is none other than Garth Brooks himself, as he lends his name (or rather, his song) to the newest addition to the bar scene. Friends in Low Places will be conveniently situated just a stone’s throw away from the Bridgestone Arena and right across from the renowned Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.

While details about the bar are still under wraps, you can bet it’ll be top-notch given Garth’s track record with other successful ventures. Personally, I adore spending time at the Bobby Rooftop Lounge all year round, thanks to its rooftop pool and, believe it or not, a retro bus parked atop the building. But my affection for it grows even stronger during the holiday period.

The Red Phone Booth stands out as perhaps the most thrilling speakeasy in Nashville. They uphold the clandestine ambiance with utmost seriousness, requiring patrons to furnish a secret code for entry. Seek the code from the concierge or embark on a treasure hunt somewhere on this page.

But heed this advice: aim to arrive as early as possible. We once attempted entry around 7pm and encountered an extensive wait time. To ensure seamless access, opt to be there at opening hours. Moreover, adherence to their strict dress code is imperative, with collared shirts mandated for men.

Fret not if unprepared; the establishment offers sports coats for borrowing. While securing entry might demand some effort, the payoff is immense, as The Red Phone Booth reigns supreme as one of Nashville’s premier bars along Broadway.
